TAG Heuer’s Tesla quest continues with a stop in India. The avant-garde watch maker joined forces with electric car manufacturer, Tesla earlier this year in celebration of TAG Heuer’s 150 year birthday. The collaboration took Tesla, TAG Heuer, and their 100% electric Tesla Roadster on a trip around the world. On May 20, 2010 the roadster made its way to the Indian Palace of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The much anticipated arrival was met with royal Indian tradition. On the journey from New Delhi, the Tesla roadster team encountered many admiring fans, but the arrival at the Palace was a real event. The team was met with music, flowers, and merriment at the Palace of the Maharaja. A private reception was hosted by the Maharaja himself, Sawai Bhawani Singh Bahadur. Some of the esteemed guests invited to the event were top Indian designers, Bollywood actress, Neha Dhupia, and TAG Heuer Ambassador, as well as Formula One driver Karun Chandhock. Of course there were plenty of Indian Royals on hand, as well. Guests were treated to fantastic views of this amazing vehicle, as well as a closer look at the TAG Heuer concept watches that are accompanying the roadster on its voyage. This royal affair is just one of many stops the TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster will make, but the Maharaja made sure it was special.
