Back in the day Marlon Brando made women swoon. He was handsome, talented, and charismatic and surely, these qualities led to him having many women in his life. Some of these women, whether friends or lovers wanted to him to remember them, think of them throughout the day, so what better gift to give than a watch? Something that literally, every time he looked at it, he would also think of the special woman that gave it to him.Brando

Zsa Zsa Gabor gave Marlon Brando a 1954 Vacheron Constantin watch that she had engraved on the back to say “To Marlon, Love Zsa Zsa June 14, 1954”. This luxury timepiece is up for bidding during Antiquorum’s nest “Important Collectors’ Wristwatches” auction, set to take place in New York on September 17, 2009.

The 18k gold cased, manually wound watch was given to Brando during the 1954 release of “On The Waterfront”, a movie that won eight awards including Best Actor for Brando and Best Picture. The movie was written by Budd Schulburg, who recently passed away.

The great Marlon Brando passed away in 2004 and with his passing went one of the greatest actors in American cinema history. Given that he was so revered and that this watch was personally engraved for him and worn by him, it has become a cherished piece of Hollywood memorabilia. Which is why it seems somewhat surprising that the estimated value of this Vacheron is between $3,000 and $5,000.

That seems like quite a deal.
