High Quality Watchmakers

What makes a high quality watch?  Is it the name?  Does the Gucci Watches logo mean quality craftsmanship or is the quality of a watch determined by something deeper?  Gucci, Omega, and Cartier are watchmakers that have made a name for themselves, but that name has not made their reputation.  The products they produce and their accuracy and their longevity is part of what gave them their fine reputations.  What’s in a name?  Well, a name is simply a reflection of its reputation and in the watchmaking world…reputation can make or break you. 

The reputation of a watchmaker is created because of their ability to design great looking, well made watches…it’s as simple as that, but that is not so simple for everyone.  Many manufacturers, who are more interested in making a quick buck, will cut corners on quality and craftsmanship. 

It’s not necessary to buy from a watchmaker that has been around for 150 years, but you should make certain that they have enough time under their belts to examine their results.  The watch you choose should be made from durable materials, as well.  Watches aren’t disposable, they are meant to tell time accurately and reliably for many years.  Choose wisely and look deeper than the name.

Gucci Watches Go Vintage

You certainly don’t have to search through archives of photos to locate a pic of a Gucci watch.  Open up any fashion magazine on the stand, and you can find any number of celebrities sporting gorgeous Gucci watches.  For some designers, this is advertisement, enough, yet not for Gucci.

The famous fashion house made a bold move, and decided on using 50 year old black and white prints from the Gucci archives in their 2010 spring ad campaign.  The ads feature Vera Grafin von Lehndorff-Steinort, or Verushka for short.  The throw-back photos show Verushka in various settings, always looking chic and timelessly elegant.  The look of the photos translates, and is significant, today. Gucci superimposes their watches and logo over the photo, giving an interesting and contemporary feel to the shots. 

Even though Verushka is selling the Gucci watches in the forefront, she is head to toe Gucci in the back ground.  From her over-sized bag, to her small over the shoulder and her large-rimmed floppy hat…she’s been Gucci-fied. 

Creative art director, Frida Giannini is the brains behind this campaign, and I think it’s brilliant.  The photos are as beautiful as when they were originally taken, and the look is timeless.

Gucci’s Timeless Beauty

Gucci New Ad Campaign, Featuring Veruschka

Gucci, the trendsetting design house and luxury watch maker is taking a different approach to their ad campaigns this year.  This iconic fashion house is utilizing their rich and illustrious history for the inspiration of their new advertising campaign.  Their new ads will feature two black and white images, which were shot back in the 1960’s.  Gucci’s new international ad campaign will use these images as a back drop to their three new collections. 

The ads will highlight Gucci’s timepieces, which will be superimposed over the black and white prints.  The G-Gucci timepiece, Gucci’s digital watch, and a traditional men’s chronograph, featuring a moss green bracelet are the watches to be showcased.  The original vintage photos are of 60’s model and actress Veruschka von Lehndorff.  Veruschka was a legendary model, making 11 appearances on the cover of Vogue magazine and working with artists, such as Salvador Dali, and her shots are as relevant and riveting today as they were 50 years ago.  Digging up these archived images and using them in a contemporary and updated way shows off Gucci’s brilliance, as a designer.  Gucci is pairing the timeless beauty of the past and the present, showing that  splendor really doesn’t ever go out of fashion.

The Timeless Style of Gucci

Gucci G-Timeless, Gorgeous

Among Italian designers, the Gucci name reigns supreme.  From their handbags to their accessories lines, the Gucci style is authentic and unmistakable.  Their famous creations have distinguished them as a fashion icon, and their newest watch collections will help to carry on that legacy.  Gucci’s timeless appeal is the appropriate beginnings for one of the new watch lines.  The G-Timeless Collection is a modern and contemporary compilation of men’s and women’s watches.  The sizing of these watches is in small and medium.  Those loyal Gucci fans will love the detailing of the G-Timeless Collection.  The watch face is styled in a “G” shadowed monogram.  Some of the dials feature a diamond Gucci motif, while other sportier versions offer green monochromatic webbing.  The dials are presented in an array of colors, such as Gucci brown, midnight black, brushed silver, and snow white.  These new Gucci timepieces are paired with either polished steel, leather, PVD, or rubber straps.  The Gucci G-Timeless watches are traditionally elegant.  If you are looking for the perfect Gucci watch, the G-Timeless may just be it.  Recently “Friends of Gucci” got together to help launch the new line.  Celebrities Owen Yap, Chermaine Poo, Joey G, and Andrea Fonseka were on hand to model the newest Gucci creations.

Gucci Watches Expanding in India

Many luxury brands have abandoned the U.S. and European markets and have slowly but surely been heading into and expanding their business dealings in Asia and the Middle East. China and India are the new number one destinations; populations are large and the appetite for luxury goods is still growing. Gucci watch collection

Watch brands like Raymond Weil, Tissot and Omega Watches have already arrived; opening new boutiques, hiring famous local Indian and Asian faces to promote their brands and seeing how this move is going to keep them in business.

In 2006, Gucci India made a contract with Murjani Retail to have its good sold throughout the country. But 2006 was a different time. Currently, Luxury Goods Retail sells Gucci products in India under a franchise agreement, and now, in 2009, when the agreement expired, Gucci made a move to petition and won the right to “enter the Indian retail market through single brand stores with the government allowing it to pick up a majority stake in its Indian franchisee Luxury Goods Retail Pvt Ltd.”

In India, Gucci has two stores; one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai but which sold a limited range of products. Last year the announcement was made that not only would the brand geographically expand, so would its product offering. In addition to opening a location in Bangalore, everything from Gucci men’s and women’s collections of ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, Gucci watches and other accessories will be for sale.

Gucci is one of the most recognized words, not to mention brands, in the world. The epitome of Italian luxury and the largest-selling Italian brand in the world, with the infamous GG logo (which stands for Guccio Gucci, the founder), Gucci anything is desired by many. Gucci watches are one the brand’s many products and are for those that foremost consider themselves fashionistas, will not be disappointed with a Gucci watch. With over twenty-four different collections of men’s and women’s watches, there exists the perfect Gucci timepiece for everybody.
